Hidden Stories of the North Shore | History (Zoom)

In 1965 Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at Winnetka’s Village Green and urged the thousands in attendance to challenge the systems and processes that make Chicago’s North Shore communities exclusively white and hostile to welcoming residents of color. Ground your exploration of how these communities have remained similarly exclusive with a historical understanding of policies and practices of racial housing segregation in the area.

Join community leaders for a series of Zoom discussions before the Juneteenth (June 19th) walk in the New Trier School District.
